Atelier Gargoyle is widely regarded as the highest quality wax available, made in the USA by Linnea and Ward in San Francisco. It’s much tougher than traditional sealing wax, made to survive the modern automatic postal system – I have sent out letters returned to sender with the seal in better condition than the envelope. Regular candle wax doesn’t work well at all for sealing. The best way to order is through our Contact page – you will receive a PayPal invoice for payment, please include your shipping address. People always ask how many impressions they can make with one stick of wax. Under the best of conditions, using a 3/4″ seal and being economical with the wax, not leaving much of a “ring” around the symbol, and having lots of practice, I managed to get almost 40 Christmas cards sealed in one stick. Note that when it gets too short, you have a stub left that will leave you with burned fingers if you try to melt it, but if you have another stick of the same color, with a little practice you can fuse the end of the new stick onto the old one and use up that last inch and a half or so. Most people will probably be able to get 20-30 per stick with one of our seals.
