About

Lightbringer Designs was founded in 2007 by Harry R. Burger to provide mechanical design and engineering services. With experience designing for sheet metal, injection molded plastic, vacuum forming, and a variety of other manufacturing processes, he wanted to share his expertise with Long Island businesses and independent inventors creating new products. Now with over 12 years of experience in SolidWorks 3D modeling, he also offers CAD and drafting services, including patent drawings and training.  Our YouTube channel includes a presentation by Mr. Burger on many different forms of 3D printing to a standing-room-only crowd at the Long Island Consultants Network

In addition to the purely technical side of design, business and human factors are also important to take into account. How will a person use the device? How could it be mis-used? Is it easy to modify? Does a design favor one group of users over others? Who will use the product? Who will buy the product? Are there obstacles that need to be overcome for someone to use it?

Through the Shapeways rapid prototyping service, any CAD model can become a physical product, shipped right to your door. Lightbringer Designs has created a line of products available for your purchase, including wax seals, signet rings, cuff links, and custom products. All can easily be customized upon request – just visit our Contact page.

Mr. Burger has a dual BS degree in Mechanical Engineering and Science and Technology Studies from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, graduating cum laude in 2005. This dual major is known as the Product Design and Innovation program, focusing around a core of design studio courses.
